Alpha Tekniko’s owner and CEO Ted Lazakis attended the annual meeting of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) in Houston, TX Feb. 27-28, 2020. Through his work with the NPIAP and its Support Surface Standards Initiative (S3I), Ted has stayed at the forefront of industry progress on ANSI/RESNA SS-1, the new surface performance test methods; patient safety issues; and advancements in materials and design for medical surfaces. Formerly called NPUAP with a reference to pressure ulcers in its name, NPIAP now operates under the updated name adopted in November 2019. NPIAP supports nurses, physicians, researchers, and manufacturers working daily to eradicate facility acquired pressure injuries.
